Jesus Calling

#90 on 101 in 1001 list is to read through Jesus Calling by Sarah Young everyday for an entire year. I’ve read it sporadically over the last couple years but I want to read all the way through it consistently. I started on March 4th and wanted to share some of the lines and verses that have encouraged me along the way.

March 4: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
March 5: Every problem can teach you something, transforming you little by little into the masterpiece I created you to be. The very same problem can become a stumbling block over which you fall, if you react with distrust and defiance. The choice is up to you, and you will have to choose many times each day whether to trust Me or defy Me.
March 6: Psalm 37: 3-4
March 7: Psalm 63:7-8
March 8: Instead of singlemindedly pursuing some goal, talk with me about it. Let the Light of My Presence shine on this pursuit, so that you can see it from My perspective. If the goal fits My plans for you, I will help you reach it. If it is contrary to My will for you, I will gradually change the desire of your heart. Seek Me first and foremost; then the rest of your life will fall into place, piece by piece.
March 9: Learn to depend on Me alone, and your weakness will become saturated with My Power. When you find your completeness in Me, you can help other people with using them to meet your own needs. Live in the Light of My Presence, and your light will shine brightly into the lives of others.
March 10: Instead of approaching the day a blank page you to need fill up, try living it in a responsive mode: being on the lookout for all that I am doing.
March 11: Galatians 5:25
March 12: If you mouth the words, “I trust you” while anxiously trying to make things go your way, your words ring hollow. Hebrews 19-20
March 13: As you sit quietly in My Presence, I shine Peace into your trouble mind and heart. John 16:33
March 14: Ephesians 3:17-18
March 15: Learn to take minibreaks from the world finding a place to be still in My Presence and listen to My voice.
March 16: When you look to Me and whisper My Name, you break free and receive My help. Focus on Me, and you will find Peace in My Presence. Proverbs 17:22
March 17: When no one else seems to understand you, simply draw closer to Me. Rejoice in the One who understands you completely and loves you perfectly.
March 18: Exert your will to trust Me in all circumstances. Don’t let your need to understand distract you from My Presence. I will equip you to get through this day victoriously, as you live in deep dependence on Me. Tomorrow is a busy worrying about itself; don’t get tangled up on its worry webs. Trust Me one day at a time. Matthew 6:34
March 19: Let My Light shine in you; don’t dim it with worries or fears. Holiness is letting Me live through you.
March 20: I shower blessings on you daily, but sometimes you don’t perceive them. When your mind is stuck on a negative focus, you see neither me nor my gifts.
March 21: Isaiah 12:2
March 22: As you walk with Me through this day, practice trusting and thanking Me all along the way. Trust is the channel through which My Peace flows into you.
March 23: I delight in showering blessings on My beloved children. Come to Me with open hands and heart, ready to receive all I have for you.
March 24: You can feel secure; even in the midst of cataclysmic changes, through awareness of My continual Presence. Isaiah 41:13
March 25: Gratitude enables you to see the Light of My Presence shining on all your circumstances
March 26: I have promised many blessings to those who wait on Me: renewed strength, living above one’s circumstances, resurgence of hope, awareness of My continual Presence.
