I know, I’m a little late to party but Rachel is hosting a coffee date on her blog and I want to participate.
Now, if this was real life and we were siting in a coffee shop, I probably wouldn’t order coffee but a Chai Tea Latte or something similar. But to be honest, I’d much rather have a diet coke in my hand, so that’s what I’m drinking today. So, pour yourself your drink of choice and enjoy.
The point of this to be open and honest so people can be encouraged. I appreciate openness and honesty in others so now it’s my turn.
Life lately has been a bit of a struggle. I’m loving life in North Carolina but I’m still adjusting in many ways. But The Lord has been teaching me a lot about friendships and pursuing others. Some of it has been hard to learn but necessary. I’m having to depend on God and trust the things He is doing in me.
Romans 8:28-29, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.”
I know that God is trustworthy and sovereign. He trying to make me more like His Son.That being said, I’m loving life up here and deepening friendships with some incredible women.
I love my roommates, Mary Beth and Amanda, we enjoy time together and aren’t talking about the fact Amanda moving home in May. Sunday night is family dinner with Mary Beth, Amanda, Morgan, and Natalie. It is one of the highlights of my week. Tuesdays, I go to chapel with Lacy and Sara; I enjoy getting to spend time with them. I started going to Bay Leaf Baptist with Lacy a few weeks ago and am making new friends there.
I’m thankful for friendships, both old and new. I have awesome friends and I don’t know what I’d do without them. But I have to remember that they are a blessing from God.
James 1:17- “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”
Proverbs 18:24- “A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”
Ecclesiastes 4:12- “And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”
So, what has God been teaching you lately?
