Last. November. Thankfulness.

I cannot believe November is already over, I can’t believe half of my senior year will be done in just a couple weeks. WHERE DID THE TIME GO? But that’s for another day. Here are my last two days of Thankfulness for November:

29. My school. Samford. My second home. I am so thankful this place, the people, and person that is shaped into over the last three and half years. I couldn’t have made a better choice. I’m thankful for each and every person that I’ve come into contact with, my best friends, my professors, and the traditions that make Samford the place that it is. Last night was one of my favorite traditions, especially during the Christmas season: Hanging of the Green and Lighting of the Way. They are two separate things but beautifully wrapped into one night. Hanging of the Green is Reid Chapel and done by 15 Senior Honorees.  I had the honor of being nominated this year, and I’m still shock with knowing each of the honorees personally, that I would even be considered for the great honor. They decorate Reid for Christmas and it beautifully done each and every year. After Hanging of the Green, the doors open and you walk to quad that is filled with luminaries as everyone heads to Centennial Walk for Lighting of the Way. Where Dr. Westmoreland reads the Christmas story and the big Christmas tree and the lamppost are lit for the first time that season. It is absolutely beautiful and gorgeous and noisy. I’m so thankful to go a college that has to be one of the most beautiful campuses in the country, has the best people, and traditions that are beloved by students and the community.

30. This Girl. Jackie. Jackie and I met during connections freshmen year and quickly became best friends. We lived together for two years and spent a summer together at camp and a month traveling Europe together. We are still good friends and I love her so much. I’m so thankful for your crazy self and your encouragement, Jacks. I love you!
