Summer Project Week 2

Holiday Club started Monday and it was blast. We talked about relationships with family, friends, leaders, and the Lord.

“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.” Ephesians 6:1

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11

“Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority” Hebrews 13:17

These were the memory verses for the kids this week. I got to teach Esther to the teens and just hang out with the kids and love on them some. They are all so cute and lovable. The teens are great but I mostly just sit and listen to their conversation in Xhosa but it’s still blessing to be there.

The Brookwood team was with us all week and I loved getting to know them and hang out with them all week. It was awesome to see high school seniors spending two weeks out of their summer loving on kids and teens and getting so attached that they cried when they had to leave. It was fun week even with Sam and the Creepy Baby (insert evil smile here).

The weekend was awesome and included seeing penguins, petting a cheetah, and going to Cape Point. I loved every second of it. Petting the cheetah was kinda incredible and hiking up the lighthouse at Cape Point was fun.

The Lord teaching me to trust Him in all kinds of new ways. I’m out of my comfort zone because I normally quickly bond with teenagers but its hard when they aren’t speaking English, it’s not a bad thing at all but it’s something new that I’m adjusting to and wishing I had some idea what they were saying. I’m adjusting to team life and we’ve fallen into a normal routine. It’s fun getting to know everyone and learning all their quirks.

Please be praying because I have a cold that needs to GO AWAY and pray that I get enough good sleep so that I can get to feeling better. So enjoy my pictures from this week and I’m so sorry this late but this weekend was a little crazy 🙂
