South African Memories

One year ago I was in Cape Town, South Africa working with LSEs and hanging out with kids and teenagers.

My Precious Warry

My Precious Warry

That is such a crazy thought because some days I feel so far removed from that trip because I didn’t know anyone going in, I graduated Samford before I went, two weeks after I got home I moved to North Carolina for seminary, and I haven’t seen anyone on my team since I left the airport in Atlanta. But other days, I miss it so much and it feels like I just got back.

My Team: Rebekah, Caleb, Savanna, Katie, Me, Tori, and Carder

I’m so very thankful for the opportunity I that to spend my summer in SA in the beautiful place I’ve EVER been. I really hope that I get to go back someday and spend a year or two volunteering for Living Hope.

Beautiful Simon's Town

I learned so much on that trip and it changed my life: the people I met, the relationships I formed, the kids I saw everyday for five weeks, the team members that I lived with, the things that I did, the pictures I took and so much more. I left a piece of my heart in Cape Town and Overcome with Living Hope but the good news is, I know they are taking care of it.

I’ll forever be thankful for last summer and the hold that South Africa has on my heart. I can’t wait to see what all God has in store for me.

“I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed. You can say to a mountain ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20
